I’ve have been kinda slow moving on posting reviews for the last couple of agk headphones, so it is now time to get caught up. For the most part, the agk headphones was really awesome, and I don’t have any problems recommending agk headphones for anyone wanting one.

The elastic head strap is very comfortable, and works very well. It very well may be able to fit to anyone’s head, think of it as to what flex-fit does for baseball hats. My ears fit rather well, and the materials do not irritate my skin. The materials appear to be all plastic, but the two arches feel like a hard rubber. The cord looks and feels durable, they feel as thick as most Shure in-ear monitor cords. Without any equalization settings, it sounds very flat. Playing around with it, I found a nice setting that makes them sound wonderful. As mentioned in another review, I wouldn’t suggest using these for professional use unless you’re really on a budget. Sound leakage is very minimal, but I would suggest trying a pair before buying if you plan using these to record. For the applications I plan on using this pair for, it was well worth the money.

Purchasing the akg 240 df was one of the really great investments I have ever made. I highly endorse it.

I have been using the 701s for 2 years and every day they sound better. Their soundstage is superlative, their rendition of detail impressive, the highs are pure, pristine and natural, the bass is deep and big. I could go on. So this is what they do well: they perfectly reproduce acoustic instruments in a musical, non analytical way. They are ideal for chamber music because of this. They are also ideal for jazz piano trios, guitar, and other small group formations. The intonation is perfect, the resolution glorious. They are also supreme for good orchestral recordings because of their spacial sensation: you can pin point all instruments. They are equally revealing for voices.
But are they perfect? Well, no, they are too flat for pop and rock, they lack punchiness for drums. They simply cannot do it! The bass is nice but lack the kick associated with this kind of music. And I must also admit that there are other cans that reproduce more successfully solo piano. The 701s are a bit narrow for this, the piano sound slightly lacks body compared for instance with the Sennheiser 650s.
So the answer is buy! if you like the kind of stuff I mentioned. You will probably re-discover your whole recordings collection. But If you are into pop/rock/R&B then I would go for Audio Technicas or even the 650s.
Something very important is that the AKGs need a powerful, high quality dedicated amplifier to be enjoyed as they deserve. They simply don’t shine if you plug them into the headphone connection of the receiver, and they are definitely BAD if you try to drive them with the IPod headphone jack.

I am not going to tell you that this is the best sounding headphone you have ever heard. Only someone who has only heard headphones that came with devices would think that. But these may be the best for the money. I have a very good pair of headphones for home, but they are too large to comfortably carry around outside of home. These are perfect for on the go. When I travel, I am one of those who always thinks I need to bring more with me than what I actually do, so the smaller the better. And these fold up to very small. I am not a fan of ear buds and that is about the only way to get something more tiny. I also like the white trim on these AKG’s. It gives it a somewhat unique look without looking ridiculous like something from Skullcandy. The pads are leatherette instead of foam so they are comfortable. Most importantly the sound is very good for something that cost just $38. I most often listen to electronic and I find the bass on these tiny headphones is pretty acceptable. Overall, the K-27I is a very good value.

With the review for akg c1000s, I will show you both the pros and the cons. Because, what good is a review if your not honest, right? To begin with, I must inform you upfront that akg c1000s is my favorite and I believe the best choice. Sure, there are some other brands that are excellent, but frankly, not one of them is as good when it comes to quality. I should say this though. some of the other brands could be the best, but based on the price and the quality, akg c1000s is the overall winner.

The headphones are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever bought. They are perfect to wear for long periods of time and don’t irritate your ears like some previous ones I’ve had. The sound cut off switch works great in an office environment and nobody can hear a thing when I am listening to them. They don’t get distorted at high volumes either. Great headphones.

Love these head phones….Nicely made, very comfortable and durable. I love the self adjusting head piece, it eliminates the pressure points you would get in a typical headphone. The headphones rest across the whole top of your head. I chose the closed style to eliminate outside noise which does a very good job. I use them with my ipod and macbook, they work great for both. I do have a portable headphone amp which I use every so often with the ipod, but it is not really needed for everyday listening. My only complaint, if I had one, would be I was hoping the head band would have been leather(like the AKG K701), not a big fan of vinyl/plastic. But I will say, they did a good job with it regardless.

I have been running a project studio for around 5 years now. I didn’t start out with the flashyest equipment, or with all the knoledge. Over time I have learned a lot, and upgraded my gear. My most recent upgrade is a pare of the AKG K240 series headphones. I just got them about two hours ago actualy. I went into the control room, and plugged them into my Firepod, fired up the PC and started listening. That being said, I will hit the audio aspects of these phones first. The first thing that I noticed was that I had to adjust the main volume higher then I did with my previous phones. I then noticed the highs: I have honestly never heard a set of phones that brought out 8-16 KHZ so well. I started thinking of how I will have to adjust those frequencys down a bit in my recordings to compinsate. My recordings normaly do have a lot of that range on other sound systems, now that I think about it. The mids: 500HZ-2KHZ sound fine. The lows?: 20-60HZ? where are they? I can’t find them in the mix! I ran a frequency response test 20 HZ-20000 KHZ sweep and started hearing stuff well above 20 HZ: meaning, that when the test started I didn’t hear anything.
I read somewhere online that these phones were to have a “flat frequency responce”. Guess not. If your wondering what that means: all frequencys would be equal when doing the sweep, no increase in volume when the sweep is in progress. This would obviously be good for studio mixing, because you wouldn’t think you had the bass, or treb high enough, only to find that the phones were not acurat in their sound reproduction when listening on another sound system.
I understand speekers some what, and understand that with a huge 12 inch woofer that you will hear the lows more then you would if that woofer was the size of a headphone., and vice versa: that small speekers pull up those highs. If headphones are to have a flatt frequency responce and they are rated at I believe 15 HZ starting range, why can’t you hear/feel it.
As far as feel, these phones are light and large. These are not noise canceling! phones! they don’t block out much at all. The cord is detachible, on the left side with a many XLR plug, the other end sports a built in many eighth inch plug. A screw on type 1-4th inch adapter comes with.
I read so many grand reviews about the sound quality of these phones! For the most part, it’s true, just lacking one detail, the low end, the fullness down their.
To sum it all up, wouldn’t get them for studio work, in less you’ve got another pare with lows that you can hear.
