I purchased these for $20 thinking that they would be decent. They are terrible. Sound quality is not very nice at all and fitment is just ridiculously terrible. I’m getting some sennheisers now..

Forget the hype - the main reason they work is by plugging your ears, NOT by canceling. Funny, but all my NON-canceling plug-style buds work better, and sound better, too.

If you check how canceling phones are SUPPOSED to work, you’ll find that they focus on a narrow set of low frequencies. There’s a good chance that YOUR type of bothersome noise won’t be covered. But this model won’t give you much canceling, even in their target range.

What to do if you can’t afford the kind that really work? Simple, actually. Forget high-tech, and get good-sounding earphones that also BLOCK the noise from coming in. That time-tested method is guaranteed to work.

The sound that comes out of this headset has no bass what so ever, totally tinny. So bad I didn’t even try the noise-cancelling ability in a noisy area.

Tried the “in your ear canal” buds and they kept falling out and I didn’t like the way they felt. These ear buds fit inside my ears perfectly without going into my ear canal, and they don’t fall out. Different strokes for different folks—-a lot of people prefer the “in your ear canal” type.

So, how do they work? They certainly don’t provide the sound quality and depth that my over the ear and pricier headphones do. But these are excellent for working out, when top end sound is not my main concern. For $10 I am quite satisfied; the sound is much better than the standard ear buds that come with Ipods and MP3 players that provide flat sound response. It does a surprisingly decent job of reproducing highs and midtones, but does not provide rich base. But, again, for workouts and for low price, it’s quite good.

Now, if they just weren’t this strange neon blue color!

This is a great headphone. The sound quality is great, and the price is amazing. I got this when it was 32.45! so the entire order was 42. I bought it for my girlfriend so she can use it to study and enjoy her music. She loves it! she said that the noise in her living room (she has 2 younger loud siblings) we greatly reduced but not eliminated. I have just borrowed them for the weekend, and WOW they are amazing. Currently I am ordering them as of right now, even though the price is 20 dollars more than when i orginially got them, should have got 2 of them then. But it doesnt matter, for this high quality built, super comfy headphones with leather pads that feels like pillows, amazing sound with Noise cancelling , and decent working noise cancelling that corresponds to what was stated on the box 85%. I gotta say these are the best headphones i ever bought, and now I’m getting another for myself!

Apparently this product is discontinued, but you can use the reviews here as a guide on what not to buy in the future. Buyer beware and all that.

I too found the noise canceling nonexistent. Apparently it works for some units in some instances and not in others.

The neckband was in no way adjustable. This was not a major problem for me, but it was inconvenient.

The noise canceling unit was mounted in a very inconvenient location. Ultimately, that is what ruined my unit–I was pulling it out of a bag and the noise canceling unit snagged on something and I pulled the wire just enough to cause a short. A better-designed device would not have suffered this problem.

**story** the first pair of these i owned i bought from a friend at school in 11th grade, 4 years ago. i was amazed at how well they sounded. i remember i lost my first pair, bought some sony earbuds that disappointed me then rebought these brand new. i also remember them taking a little while to get comfortable compared to the first pair i bought which were already worn-in.

*review* overall great headphones, they are durable, sound great compared to the several pairs of name brand mid-priced headphones ive gotten over the years and got packaged with cdplayers/ipod

im going out to target (as of 1-21-09 still sells these, save $[...] shipping and buy in-store!) right now to buy my 3rd pair (i lost my 2nd..). im happy they still sell this model!

they also have the exact same plastic main-piece as the Logitech Extreme PC Gaming Headset 980233-0403. i noticed because i’ve owned both products at the same time.
